So I called to order one of those delicious looking cookie bouquets for Adam for Father’s Day. I won’t mention the name of the company, but they have a very high opinion of their cookies. And it’s not just them. I got online to see if I could get a better price somewhere else, but all of the cookie bouquets cost about an equal amount of ridiculous. I watch the news, I know that the price of flour has gone up, so bakers are forced to raise their prices a bit. I also know that people work hard to decorate these delectable creations…blah, blah but seriously they wanted me to pay 51 bucks for 7 cookies. And here’s the thing…I LOVE cookies, especially the soft cookies that are kind of like the consistency of cake. But that means that the cookies cost a little more than 7 bucks each. I could go to Kroger and buy the ingredients needed to make dozens of cookies for just a little more than 7 bucks OR I could go to Publix and get something from the bakery and I still would spend waaaayyy less than 50 dollars . Now I ask you….are these cookies magical? Will they cure diseases or end world hunger? Well I say they must be something pretty special if I am gonna pay 50 dollars for 7 cookies. I can think of many better things to do with 50 bucks.
Now, don’t get me wrong I don’t think 50 dollars is too much to spend on Adam, but I already got him something else, and I just wanted to get him a little extra treat. Well, sorry honey no cookies this year. I will make you a cake or a peanut butter pie or whatever convection you might have a taste for this week. It’s your day… Father’s Day…I hope it’s a good one! Oh wait, hey ya’ll… did I mention that they wanted 50 bucks for 7 cookies!
