Today Addison’s school had a Character Book Parade. I guess some people don’t “do” Halloween so to preserve the fun of the day the kids were allowed to dress as a book character. I refuse to buy 2 costumes, so we decided to choose a book character for her to dress up as for Halloween and for the parade. She chose to be Fern from Charlotte’s web.
Alivia and I bundled up and went to watch the parade this morning. It was really chilly, but it was worth it to see all of the children dressed up as all sorts of book characters and of course Addison was so happy we were there.
We saw 3 of the seven dwarfs, teachers dressed as Curious George and the man with the yellow hat, lot’s of Wicked Witches from Wizard of Oz and a few princesses. There were many more adorable costumes but my favorite one had to be my little Fern. She is such a sweet girl and I just love her! Here are some of the pictures I snapped while Livie and I froze our tushies off.

I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween or a fabulous non Halloween if you don’t participate!

Happy Halloween! I love the idea of a character book parade. And I love love Charlotte’s Web…great choice!
Just the other day I heard of another school doing a character book parade instead of Halloween. Being all closed minded, I determined that was silly and wondered what is wrong with Halloween.
It looked like your daughter had fun, anyway. She made a great Fern!
how fun! and she is so adorable! I know you know that.
