so i was litteraly 10 seconds from where the mother & baby died. i was at my best friends house..lets just say i never want to experience that again. she has 5 sisters. it was so scary & im so thankful im alive came right through he backyard. i saw it.

Oh how I remember the tornadoes coming across the field (grew up in southern MN). They are S-C-A-R-Y! Thankfully you and your fam are all right. Thoughts and prayers for everyone!

Things like this really make you realize just WHAT is important. We had to evacuate our home once because of fires. I literally had about 30 minutes to determine what was important. I was “lucky” because we were building a house and 90% of our stuff was in storage a very far distance from the fire. So I grabbed my son, the cpu from our computer, things/clothes so my husband could continue to work and necessities for me and the baby. It truly was all that mattered at the time. And wouldn’t you know it, the fire didn’t come within miles of us. But many in our community were devastated.

A couple of weeks later we saw the movie “Twister” (yeah, I’m really dating myself). I bawled through the whole movie because for the first time in my life I knew how helpless the people in the movie felt.

I felt the same shock and disbelief when a tornado went through my parents neighborhood last year. You just never think something so devastating could happen so close to home. I’ll be praying for the families affected…
